On top of your already busy life, fitting in the training for up to 6 months can be a very difficult feat in itself. Endurance sports can be extremely physically and mentally draining, especially when you are talking about such a long period of time.

If elite athletes are not running well, this is going to be the first thing they search for - whether they have used the program for 5 days or 5 years. Beginners generally have a difficult time adapting to a plan that works for them in all facets of their busy lives.
