Are You A Tea Customer?Read More Helpful Facts Here!

By Larry Underwood

Are you a tea drinker? Whether chasing the heat with relaxing iced Lipton or embracing warmth with a steaming chamomile, the customer is not likely to consider how the ~keyword1~ vie to propel their products to the top of the market. While pausing on the fragrant coffee and tea aisle at Wal-Mart, one is faced with a superfluity of selections when searching for green tea.

To better understand the retail origin of the different brands of tea, one must first understand that teas are broken down into primary classes that are shared throughout the market. They are black (oxidized) tea, green tea leaf which is a Camellia tea rich in antioxidants, Oolong tea which is an enjoyable cross between black and green, white tea, created from immature tea leaves and buds and which is higher in antioxidants than even the green, and yellow tea, which is much milder than the above mentioned teas. All have been proven to some minute extent through extensive assessment to help lowering cholesterol and sustaining blood sugar levels.

Most brands also tout teas that assist in natural weight loss, sleep aid and even those which carry anti-carcinogenic traits. Again, these represent the base categories of teas that all tea manufacturers and merchants start with when they go about producing that which we look for in the grocery aisles. It is then up to the company to break these right into flavors and styles that entice the buyer. Who then, is behind this virtual plethora of options? Are the tea rivals major corporations in the beverage industry and if so, is there any one corporation that corners the marketplace as the biggest tea company globally?

The Tazo teas seem to take a marginal amount of area on the shelf. They bear the standard and more well-liked flavors of tea such as Chai and Earl Grey, Chamomile and numerous fruit flavored teas such as lemon, raspberry and orange. The Tazo Business is relatively small with only between seventy-five to one hundred personnel. A young company in comparison to others, Tazo was established in the late 1990's in Portland, Oregon. They also lately teamed with Starbucks where the multi-hued ~keyword3~ bags can always be found.

Slightly more spread out than Tazo is Teavana, who is dedicated to not only the simple tea categories, but in slightly more obscure teas such as Yerba Mate as well as herbal teas. This company also possess specialty tea components in its stores. Teavana was also founded in the 1990's, has outlets globally and their availability? They can be found in every single United State in at least one shopping mall. There are presently 168 U.S. (mall) locations.

Bigelow is a more common household name when it comes to brand names. Half a century older than Tazo and Teavana, Bigelow was started in the 1940's on a single flavor of tea, Constant Comment. This is one of my personal favorites, and my kitchen is never without a box of Constant Comment tea bags which can be used as iced tea or for hot brewed tea. ~keyword2~ is just as eclectic in flavor and categorical options, and as of 2010, the organization employs just over 400 employees. Bigelow is so common and well-liked in the homes of customers that they recently had sales breaking $100 million.

Tetley tea is also a popular household brand. Worldwide, it is the second largest tea company. It is the largest in the United Kingdom and the second biggest in the United States. Tetley tea is more usually recognized for its iced tea and not so much for brewing green tea bags.
